Specific Weed Control Strategies

  1. Cocklebur in soybeans.

Do not use from this group: Scepter, Canopy, Broadstrike, classic, or Pursuit in same field for maore than two years in a row.
Even if rotating crops, after two crop cycles are grown, it is a good practice to rotate
If Scepter, Canopy, or Broadstrike are used ppi/pre, use something other than Scepter, classic, Pinnacle, or Pursuit postemergence.

  2. Johnsongrass in soybeans and cotton.

Alternate Post or Select with Fusilade or Assure

In order to manage herbicide resistant weeds and to prevent the widespread development to resistance, the following strategies are recommended.

General Resistance Management Strategies

  1. Rotate crops where possible.
  2. Use preplant tillage, cultivation and other cultural practices for weed control where possible.
  3. Rotate herbicides having different modes of action.
  4. Use tank mixtures of herbicides having different modes of action.
  5. Avoid sequential applications of the same herbicide or herbicides having the same mode of action.
  6. Control weeds on fallow or set-aside land.
  7. If you suspect resistance after a herbicide application attempt to eradicate escapes with alternative herbicides or cultural methods, i.e. DO NOT LET THEM GO TO SEED.
